As part of their quarterly Men’s Sabbath activities, the Silver Springs Adventist Men's Ministries dedicated the Sabbath of 2nd August 2025 to a special outreach mission at Luzira Prison.

Focusing on service and spiritual upliftment, the men chose to visit the male remand section, where Silver Springs SDA Church, in partnership with Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism (AFCOE), are conducting ongoing Bible studies with the inmates. This mission reflected the men’s commitment to not just worship, but also put faith into action, reaching out to those behind bars with messages of hope, encouragement, and Christ’s redeeming love.

Their presence, worship, and generosity left a meaningful impact on the inmates, affirming the call to “remember those in prison” (Hebrews 13:3) and to continue ministering to hearts often overlooked.

The delegation joined the AFCOE team in a vibrant worship session with male inmates, who welcomed the group warmly and participated enthusiastically. Hymns filled the prison grounds as inmates sang along with joy and reverence, creating a deep sense of spiritual connection. The message shared focused on hope and redemption, resonating strongly with the attentive audience. Though the service was interrupted twice for mandatory prisoner headcounts, the commitment of the inmates to return and continue the session was deeply moving. Their eagerness to remain engaged without coercion revealed the power of spiritual fellowship.

As part of the outreach, the church team distributed essential hygiene items such as soap, razor blades and toothpaste, generously supported by the prison wardens. While the gifts were modest, the inmates’ overwhelming appreciation highlighted just how meaningful such gestures can be.

However, the visit also shed light on the difficult living conditions inside the prison. Many inmates lacked footwear and basic hygiene supplies, underscoring the ongoing need for material and emotional support.

“This experience opened my eyes and my heart,” one of the visitors reflected. “It reminded me of the calling we all have, to visit and care for those society often forgets. I am inspired to do more.”

The Silver Springs Adventist Church encourages fellow believers and community members to visit prisoners, share Christ’s love, and support their well-being in whatever way possible.
