Miles of Hope Run: Running to Skill a Woman, Transform a Family, and Build a Community
The Miles of Hope Run is a community-driven annual fundraising event organized by the Emmaus Adventist Church Youths together with the Emmaus Better Living Center (EBLC) to bring hope to rural and urban communities.
This year, the run is dedicated to raising funds for the establishment of a Tailoring and Digital Skills Development Center that will equip women with practical, income-generating skills for self-reliance, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Miles of Hope is not just a run. It is a movement of compassion, empowerment, and action.
In fast-growing urban areas such as Kira Municipality, many women face increasing economic pressure due to unemployment, low household income, high cost of living, and limited access to marketable skills. While urban communities may appear developed, many families still struggle silently. Some women are single mothers, school dropouts, unemployed youths, widows, or caregivers who desire to work but lack the skills, tools, and support needed to earn a sustainable income.
A Tailoring and Digital Skills Development Center will provide a practical solution. Through tailoring, women can acquire hands-on skills in garment making, repair, design, and small-scale production. Through digital skills, they can learn computer basics, online marketing, mobile money management, record keeping, branding, and how to use technology to grow small businesses.
Our mission is simple yet life changing: to skill a woman so that she can support herself, strengthen her family, and contribute meaningfully to the community.
The proposed center will serve as a safe and empowering space where women and youths can learn, create, connect, and grow. It will not only train them but also restore confidence, dignity, and hope. A skilled woman is not only able to earn an income; she is able to educate her children, improve her household welfare, mentor others, and become a driver of community transformation.
Every contribution brings us closer to setting up a center that will open doors for women who have the potential but lack opportunity.
Why Your Support Matters
Your support does more than fund a building or buy equipment. It gives a woman a skill. It gives a mother a source of income. It gives a girl a second chance. It gives a family hope.
By supporting the Miles of Hope Run, you are investing in sustainable change. You are helping women move from dependence to dignity, from survival to productivity, and from limitation to opportunity.
Be Part of the Change. Whether you run, donate, sponsor, or share the message, your action sends a powerful statement: When you skill a woman, you empower a family. When you empower a family, you transform a community.
Join us. Run with purpose. Give with heart. Let’s turn miles into skills, skills into livelihoods, and livelihoods into lasting hope.
