In a landmark event for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda, 19 Pathfinder clubs from across the Central Uganda Conference (CUC) converged for the Level 2 Testing of the Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE). Held on July 13, this event marked the first-ever Level 2 PBE testing within the East-Central Africa Division (ECD), a significant step in promoting Bible study and spiritual development among young Adventists.

The Pathfinder Bible Experience is a rigorous Bible quiz program designed for Pathfinders aged 10–15. Participants are tested in teams on their deep understanding of specific Bible books each year. This year’s PBE focused on the books of 1 Corinthians and Romans, with participants showcasing exceptional biblical knowledge, teamwork, and dedication.

The journey to Level 2 began with Level 1 testing at the zone in June. The best-performing clubs advanced to compete at the conference level. After a spirited and closely contested round of Bible quizzes, Entebbe Central Pathfinder Club and Othniel Pathfinder Club from Kajjansi emerged as the top teams. These two clubs will now proudly represent CUC at the Level 3 Union-wide testing under the Uganda Union Mission.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Elder Mumbere Kisomo Sibalingan, the PBE 2025 Coordinator, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming unity and enthusiasm displayed by the participating teams. “We thank the Pathfinders for their commitment and the parents for preparing their children. This unity shows that the spirit of Bible study is growing stronger. I urge all Pathfinder directors and Master Guides to keep training and inspiring the children,” he said.

The CUC Youth Ministries Director, Pastor Danstan Mulumba, also applauded the clubs and churches that participated. “This event showed that our Pathfinders are truly involved. We encourage the clubs that didn’t participate this year to start preparing early for next year. Pastors, club directors, and church elders must all be involved in supporting and training these young minds,” he emphasized.

Next year’s testing will focus on the Book of Isaiah, chapters 1–33, and preparations are expected to begin early across the region. Organizers hope that with continued commitment, Uganda will soon be able to field teams for higher levels of competition, including finals hosted in other world divisions such as the Trans-European Division and the North American Division, whose 2026 finals will be held in April.

The successful organization and enthusiastic participation in PBE 2025 signal a bright future for the program within Uganda and the broader East-Central Africa Division. With continued collaboration among church leaders, parents, and Pathfinder clubs, the spiritual and intellectual growth of Adventist youth in the region is set on a firm foundation.
