As part of its ongoing ministry activities, the Silver Springs Adventist Church (SSAC) Women’s Ministries, led by their leader, Mrs. Luck Racheal Munyona, reached out to the elderly members of the community with compassion, encouragement, and practical support this Sabbath.

Mrs Yisaya, a devoted Adventist elderly lady whose mobility has been greatly hindered by age shared moving testimonies with the visiting team members. Though physically frail, she continues to inspire her neighborhood with her faith. At her home, she keeps a megaphone tuned to Prime Radio, which many of her neighbors also follow. She shared that whenever the radio falls silent, her neighbors quickly notice and check on her well-being, which is a testimony to the quiet but powerful impact of her witness.

The team also visited Mr. Basajjabalaba, a blind elderly man living alone in a dilapidated house in Luzira. His situation reflects both physical and social vulnerability: frail in health, with most of his teeth gone, and struggling even with basic self-care. Deeply touched by the visit, he humbly requested help in fetching water and shared about his life and his cravings. The SSAC leaders showed concern and agreed to always reach out to this precious soul.

The visited individuals expressed heartfelt gratitude for being remembered. They were overjoyed by the love and concern demonstrated by the Women’s Ministries team, warmly thanking the church for its care and presence.

Earlier in the day, SSAC also distributed gift hampers to elderly church members, ensuring they felt valued and supported within the fellowship. Their words of encouragement blessed the church members and felt loved.

Through these acts of kindness, the ministry was reminded of the true essence of Christian service: to uplift those who may feel forgotten and extend love in tangible ways. Indeed, Scripture affirms this mission: “Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress…” (James 1:27).
