KIGOMA, Uganda — Mt. Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church marked a historic milestone with the investiture of 12 new Master Guides during a vibrant, spirit-led ceremony held on Sabbath, 19th July 2025. The event was presided over by Ms. Janet Kyazike, the Youth Ministries Leader for the Kampala Metropolitan Zone, whose message emphasized commitment, integrity, and spiritual growth in youth leadership.

The Master Guide is the highest level of leadership training within the Adventurer and Pathfinder ministries of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. More than a badge of honor, it is a personal and spiritual commitment to leading youth with excellence, character, and godliness. It marks not the end of a training journey, but the beginning of a life-long calling to serve and disciple the next generation.

“As one church leader once said, ‘You can’t teach what you don’t know, and you can’t lead where you won’t go,’”. “Master Guides are called not just to share knowledge, but to embody it. If we want our youth to walk with God, we must walk that path ourselves, visibly and faithfully.”

The investiture was a celebration not just of achievement, but of readiness; a public commitment to serve, mentor, and guide young people in their spiritual walk with Christ. Families, friends, and fellow church members gathered to witness and affirm the dedication of these 12 leaders, recognizing the significant role they will play in shaping future disciples.

Church leaders at Mt. Zion expressed gratitude for the dedication of the new Master Guides and the mentorship provided by the Youth Ministries Department.

As Mt. Zion continues to grow in youth ministry, this investiture stands as a beacon of hope and leadership in Kigoma, signaling that the church is investing deeply in equipping leaders to carry forward the mission of the gospel—one young heart at a time.
