Kirinya, 31st August 2025 — The Emmaus Adventist Church family marked a historic milestone on Sunday as some members visited their newly purchased land along Kirinya - Bukasa road. This permanent home symbolizes God’s providence and the unwavering faith of His people.
Emmaus Church was established on 4th June 2022, beginning its journey from the humble premises of Prima Kindergarten and Junior School in Kirinya. This was made possible through the generosity of Elder and Mrs. Kabali, who opened their doors for the young congregation. Since then, Emmaus has become known for its mission-oriented spirit, evangelistic fervor, and commitment to community transformation.
From the very start, Emmaus embraced evangelism as its heartbeat. Just a month after being planted, the church organized its first public evangelistic effort, setting the tone for what has now become a yearly tradition. Over the years, Emmaus has partnered with various stakeholders in spreading the gospel, most notably Adventist World Radio (AWR) through Pastor Immanuel Ogwal, whose support led to more than 100 baptisms across two major evangelistic campaigns. AWR was also instrumental in helping plant Silver Springs Adventist Church in Mutungo, a sister congregation that has grown rapidly.
During the Homecoming efforts of July 2024, the Uganda Union Mission, represented by the then President Dr. Moses Maka Ndimukika, recommended that Emmaus host the Heaven’s Choir from South Korea. The visit by the choir deepened bonds of fellowship across continents and inspired Emmaus’ members to strengthen their mission focus. In addition, the South Korean friends of Emmaus have been pivotal in supporting the congregation, underscoring the church’s global partnerships in advancing God’s work.

This past Sunday, 31st August 2025, Emmaus members were joined by their brothers and sisters from Silver Springs for a joyous luncheon, welcoming some of the visiting Korean friends. After the fellowship, a selected group of members visited the newly acquired land, a permanent home that will soon house a sanctuary of worship, a hub of evangelism, and a beacon of hope for the Kirinya community.
With the new land secured, Emmaus envisions establishing itself as a Center of Influence, a place where spiritual growth, health, education, and community development will thrive.
As a section of members stood together on the land, many were awed, recognizing how far God had brought them in just three years. From a borrowed kindergarten space to owning land, Emmaus Adventist Church continues to testify that with prayer, unity, and mission-driven hearts, great things can be achieved.
Indeed, Emmaus is poised to become a true change agent in Kirinya, shining the light of Christ and transforming lives for eternity.
