Dr. Moses Maka Ndimukika elected ECD Executive Secretary

On July 8, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference Session, Pastor Dr. Moses Ndimukika Maka was officially elected as the Executive Secretary of the East-Central Africa Division (ECD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Born on June 13, 1969, in Buwagi, Budondo, Jinja, Uganda, Dr. Maka brings to this role over 30 years of dedicated service in ministry. He was ordained in 1995 and began his pastoral career serving as a pastor and district leader in Jinja Central, Iganga, and Busei. His passion for education later led him to serve as a lecturer, and subsequently as Principal and Director of Bugema University’s Kampala campus.

Dr. Maka’s academic journey reflects his commitment to theological excellence. He completed his secondary education at Bugema Adventist Secondary School and earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from Spicer Adventist University in India. He went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Theology from Newbold College in England, and in 2015, he completed his Ph.D. in Biblical Theology from Sahmyook University in South Korea.

In 2021, Dr. Maka was elected Executive Secretary of the Uganda Union Mission. A year later, during the ECD Session in August 2022, he was appointed Union President.

Throughout his leadership, Dr. Maka has emphasized mission outreach, spiritual growth, leadership development, financial stewardship, and capacity building for pastors. His election as ECD Executive Secretary marks a continuation of his deep commitment to the mission of the Church and its growth across the region.
