KIREKA, Uganda — Worshippers from across the Central Uganda Conference (CUC) gathered at the Kireka Adventist Hospital grounds for a Spirit-filled Corporate Prayer Day on Sunday, 11th January 2026 marked by heartfelt worship, community service through blood donation, and a strong call to advance mission through the health ministry.

The day’s keynote message was delivered by Pastor David Mpande, the Uganda Union Mission (UUM) Personal Ministries Director, who preached a stirring sermon themed on “crossing over to new territories.” Drawing lessons from the Israelites’ deliverance through the Red Sea, Pr. Mpande challenged believers to embrace faith, obedience, and courage as God leads His people into new frontiers of service and evangelism.

A total of 178 souls were baptized following the series of messages and appeals, a highlight many attendees described as evidence of God’s continued power to transform lives.

CUC President launches UGX 2,000 weekly drive for hospital equipment

In a major moment of the program, Pastor David Simwogerere, the CUC President, appealed to members to contribute UGX 2,000 every Sabbath for the remaining 10 Sabbaths starting on Sabbath, 17th January 2026 of the quarter to support the purchase of essential hospital equipment and final preparations for the hospital’s launch.

He reaffirmed that Kireka Adventist Hospital will officially open on 5 April 2026, calling on every believer to participate so the facility opens fully equipped and ready to serve the community.

Using imagery drawn from Pauline theology, Pr. Simwogerere reminded the congregation that the church grows stronger when every member plays their part—like a body in which every joint and part works together. He noted that while others will be observing the Easter season around that time, CUC will be celebrating a milestone of mission through health: the opening of the hospital.

Emeritus leader joins as members dedicate the hospital in prayer

The event was graced by Uganda Union officials as well as the presence of Pastor Christian Alideki, Emeritus President of the Uganda Union, whose attendance was warmly acknowledged by the leaders and members.

In a moving dedication moment, the congregation was invited to face the hospital, raise their hands toward the facility, and unite in prayer. Pr. Alideki led a special blessing over the hospital, the health workers who will serve in it, and the communities that will benefit from its ministry.

Beyond worship and preaching, the Corporate Prayer Day also featured a blood donation exercise, reinforcing the church’s commitment to practical compassion and life-saving service.

Gratitude to builders and partners

In his remarks, the CUC President expressed appreciation to all who have contributed to the establishment of Kireka Adventist Hospital, including supporters, contractors, and suppliers. He emphasized that the hospital stands as a shared achievement of faith, sacrifice, and collective responsibility—and urged members to sustain that spirit as the conference moves toward opening day.

With souls baptized, hands lifted in dedication, and a renewed commitment to equip the hospital, the Corporate Prayer Day ended with many worshippers expressing hope that Kireka Adventist Hospital will become a beacon of healing and evangelism in the region.
