Kampala, Uganda – A wave of revival swept through the Kampala Metropolitan Zone (KMZ) as 96 people were baptized during the recently concluded camp meetings that ran for two consecutive weeks across three districts.

The gatherings, which began with Kira Central District from August 24 to 30 at Bugema Adventist Secondary School, and continued with Kampala A and Bunga Central Districts from August 31 to September 6, drew large crowds of worshippers. Hundreds thronged the venues daily, united by the desire for spiritual renewal, inspiration, and fellowship.

According to organizers, the camp meetings provided more than just routine preaching. They offered an atmosphere of hope, with messages that addressed personal struggles, family life, community challenges, and the urgent call to Christian commitment. Worshippers described the sermons as uplifting and life-transforming, leading many to make decisions for baptism.

The highlight of the events was the baptism of 96 men and women who publicly declared their faith. As they emerged from the waters, songs of praise and thanksgiving echoed through the three baptismal sites, fulfilling this year's camp meeting theme "I will go, make disciples of Jesus Christ." Families and friends gathered to witness the milestone moments, some moved to tears as loved ones joined the faith.

Church elders across the KMZ hailed the success of the meetings, calling it a testimony to the growth of the Adventist message in Uganda’s capital and surrounding areas.

As the curtains closed on the two-week revival, the message was clear: the work of nurturing, mentoring, and supporting the new believers has only just begun. With renewed faith and strengthened fellowship, members left the camp meetings inspired to continue spreading the gospel in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

At Bugema Adventist School, the Kampala A District witnessed a powerful spiritual harvest as 36 individuals were baptized at the conclusion of its week-long camp meeting. The baptism was officiated by Pastor John Nyende, bringing to fruition the messages of revival and commitment that had been preached throughout the seven days by Pastor Linda Asare, the guest speaker for the event.

The camp meeting, which was spearheaded by the Women Ministries department, drew an impressive attendance from church members and the wider community. Each day was marked by vibrant worship, inspirational preaching, and interactive sessions that spoke to the spiritual and social needs of the participants.

A key highlight was the media coverage provided by the Communication Department of Kampala Central Church, which ensured that the proceedings were broadcast beyond the immediate audience. Through their efforts, many more people across the city and beyond were able to follow the sermons, testimonies, and music, extending the reach and impact of the camp meeting far beyond the physical venue.

The Kira Central District camp meeting was this year organized under the leadership of the Men’s Ministries department, which took charge of planning and coordination. The week-long revival was anchored by the preaching of Pastor Samuel Mwaniki, whose clear and Spirit-filled messages touched the hearts of many and ultimately led to the baptism of 21 new believers.

While the overall attendance during the week was slightly lower compared to the previous year’s numbers, the spirit of commitment remained strong throughout. The climax came on Sabbath, when the venue was filled to capacity. Adults from across the district streamed in, packing the hall in a show of unity and devotion that underscored the strength of the church family.

The Bunga Central District Camp Meeting, held in partnership with Still Water Adventist Church, culminated in a remarkable spiritual harvest with 39 individuals baptized. The week-long event took place at Merryland High School in Katabi, providing an ideal setting for worship, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.

The camp meeting was notable for its inclusivity, drawing together a wide range of congregations from within the district, including strong representation from university-based churches, which added a vibrant youthful energy to the program.

The meetings brought together five congregations: Bunga Central, New Life, Faithway, Bethesda, and Still Water. Each congregation actively participated in the preaching, music, and evangelistic outreach that characterized the camp, making the event a unified effort of mission and ministry.
